Shop Update: New slipjoints available
A selection of new hand-forged UK legal slipoints are about to hit the online shop - you guys here on Substack get first dibs!
Well, The Bushcraft Show 2024 was a huge success - one of the best shows yet - and now I’m back in the workshop and looking ahead to the rest of the year. I won’t be trading at any more shows now until The Sharp Show, so my plan is to photograph and list the new pieces that I have available and restock the shop.
You guys will get a sneak peek before they are listed online, so if you like the look of any of them, please drop me an e-mail.
Here are a few, with lots more on the way!
I’d been making a lot of fancy pattern-welded blades lately, but with these three I wanted to focus on making heavy-duty working knives - designed for bushcraft, woodworking, leatherwork and general EDC use. Carbon steel blades, wood scales and stainless steel liners. Simple, but rugged and practical.
Masur Birch (stabilized) with 1084 carbon steel blade & stainless steel liners. £325 including sheath.
Elm Burl (stabilized) with stainless steel liners. Scandi grind 52100 blade. £325 including leather sheath.
English Yew Burl, stainless steel liners and O1 tool steel blade with scandi grind. £325 including leather pocket slip.
However, I do of course have a few extra fancy pattern-welded folders…
Ancient 5000 year old Bog Oak (stabilized) with stainless steel liners and bolsters (fitted with hidden pins). The blade is damascus Go-Mai - 1084 carbon steel cladding each side over two pieces of 120+ layer 1095/15n20 damascus twist and with another piece of 1084 as the core/cutting edge. £545 with a leather pocket slip.
Several more on the way, but it takes a while to take, edit and upload all of the photos. Stay tuned!
